MTM College is located in the laps of a picturesque Apatani Plateau, Ziro. MTM College is an Institute for teacher education, sponsored by a Society – NEW HERITAGE WELFARE SOCIETY, Ziro – to raise the standard & quality of education as per the need of the present society through the process of teacher preparation. Teacher is an architect of a nation; he is the builder of the character of the nation. To prove this, a nation should have well-trained & qualified teachers to fulfill the above aspiration. It was a long felt demand of the people of Arunachal to have a premier Institution for Teacher Education, and taking inspiration from the above, the New Heritage Welfare Society, Ziro has been putting its endeavour to fulfill the need of the society by establishing MTM COLLEGE, ZIRO, in the year 2009. MTM College Ziro was established as an Institute for teacher education, offering a Two-year B.Ed. Course on a semester basis, affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University, Rono Hill, Doimukh, Arunachal Pradesh (Notification No. AC-59/2008, Dtd. 01 June 2011). The College is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi vide Office Order No. ERC/7-134.6.1/Bed/2012/12350. The Department of Higher & Technical Education, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, has also issued a 'No Objection Certificate' to run the institution for Teachers Education. The college promotes and encourages various innovative and research activities related to the teaching-learning process — action research, work experience, child-centred approaches, continuous & comprehensive evaluation, grading system, seminars, symposia, workshops on development of low-cost / no-cost teaching-learning materials, and rigorous practice teaching to develop all skills of teaching.
